Thank-you Carlos Santana

I saw Carlos Santana back in 1980 at Poplar Creek Amphitheatre—he was and remains a guitar god to me--one of the all-time greats in music history. He graced our stage today at City Winery with an interview with NBC’s Jose Diaz-Balart.
When I think back, and it is very foggy, but he had a piano tech on tour with him who was a camp counselor named Steve Ben-Susan or something. He got my friend and I backstage passes which I put on my fancy new 35mm camera strap. I felt it was so cool to have this pass. It might have been the first official one ever in my life of being backstage all over the globe for the past 40 years of my life. In fact, this might have been one of the earliest catalysts to get into the music business. So thank-you Carlos for your music, for your karma, and being part of setting me on my own journey.
This interview on NBC is really cool (and I love our barrels in the background…)
Great story and great interview feature for CW!
Thanks for sharing. Beautiful thoughts to wake me up to this Sunday morning. Love his holding G-d’s hand imagery.
