Michae;: MY late magazine publisher John Wegg not only knew Richard, but he and Sir Freddie Laker became his mentors. In 2001, I was on an Advisory Board for a non profit called "Families for the Rainforest". The founder is a friend of mine from Chesshire, a horticulturist. We began writing letters for financial support and being an airline guy, he asked me to write a letter to Richard. When he received it, he dictated a letter to me to acknowledge receipt and that either he or one of his stafff would be back in touch. A week and half later, Richard turned us down for support, but he actually responded! I'm curious who are your mentors in total? Do tell!
Michael, well done and quite amusing. Yes, a true entreprenneur! My personal story was that I was prevelaged to sit in front of Mr. Branson at a US Open Match a few years ago. The most I exchanged was a smile and a hello. I did not want to invade his space as I'm sure that you undersant. I also always admired his ingenuity and will admit I share your feelings. :)
Great story. I’ve always loved following anything and everything about Sir Branson. He had me at starting a mail order record store then started a record store. I found it interesting he already saw the power of a mail order store. The Sears, Roebuck & Co method with records. His love for be daring and wild has always sparked a flame for me. I’d be “bromanced” too except I’m a girl. Great photo. And hey, how many people get to say that they were invited to Nectar Island? Sign me the fuck up. Please.
